HotDep centers on critical components of the infrastructures touching our everyday lives: operating systems, networking, security, wide-area and enterprise-scale distributed systems, mobile computing, compilers, and language design.

HotDep '06 will be held immediately following the 7th USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation (OSDI '06), November 6–8, 2006. The 3rd USENIX Workshop on Real, Large Distributed Systems (WORLDS '06) will take place on November 5.
